Frequently asked questions

• Do you charge a percentage of my spend or savings?–

  No. Your subscription is a flat monthly fee by spend band — it never scales as a percentage of your cloud bill. The savings CloudQuell identifies are yours to capture in full.

• Do I need a credit card to start the trial?+

  No. The 14-day Starter and Growth trials start with no credit card — you get every paid feature for the full two weeks. Add a card any time during the trial to keep your plan uninterrupted when it ends; we email you a few days before that. Do nothing and your account moves to the Free plan with no charge.

• What happens when my trial ends?+

  If you added a card during the trial, your subscription starts automatically — cancel any time before the end to avoid it. If you did not, your organization moves to the Free plan automatically: nothing is deleted (your team, integrations, and cost history are all kept), and any members beyond the Free plan’s 2-seat limit become read-only until you upgrade.

• What if my monthly spend exceeds the Free plan cap?+

  At 90% of the $10K cap you'll see a dismissible banner. At 105% a non-dismissible warning appears. At 110% a data freeze kicks in — ingestion keeps running but the portal and MCP stop showing new data until you either upgrade or your spend drops back below the cap. Nothing is ever deleted. Paid features (alerts, Slack, allocation rules, full Savings Engine) remain locked behind upgrade prompts regardless of spend.

• Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?+

  Yes, at any time. Annual billing saves 17% (two months free) on every paid plan.

• Which clouds do you support today?+

  AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Snowflake ingestion is generally available — connect any of them from the Integrations page. Azure and GCP ingestion remains in private beta — request access to enable a connector for your organization. Pricing is unified across providers — your subscription covers them as each goes live.

• Can I see spend from accounts in different currencies as one number?+

  Yes. AWS bills each account in its local currency, so a multi-region estate arrives in several at once. CloudQuell normalizes every account and region into one display currency you set per organization — 28 supported, USD by default. Each charge is converted at the exchange rate for the month it was billed, so historical reports stay stable as rates move.

• How is data stored and isolated?+

  TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest with AWS-managed keys, and logical tenant isolation. SOC 2 Type I is in progress for late 2026. SSO and SAML ship alongside SOC 2.
