Pricing transparency

Which FinOps vendors publish their pricing? The complete list.

Cloud cost management has a pricing-transparency problem: a large share of the category will not tell you what it costs until you have talked to sales. Here is the entire market, split by whether a rate card exists.

Every number below comes from the vendor's own public pricing page, checked on August 12, 2026. If a vendor is not listed with a price, it is because they do not publish one. Spot an error or a change? Tell us and we will fix it — this page is only useful if it is right.

The market, split by transparency

Vendors that publish a rate card

Best for Buyers who need to put next year’s tooling cost in a budget today.

Strengths

  • Flat, published rate cards as of August 2026: CloudQuell, Vantage and Cloudchipr price by spend band; Infracost prices flat for pre-deploy IaC estimates (a different job from billing analysis).
  • Datadog Cloud Cost Management publishes a percentage-of-spend rate ($5–$10 per $1,000 of monthly spend) rather than a flat fee — transparent, just not flat.

Limitations

  • The club is small and shrinking: figures still repeated in AI answers — Finout ~$1,000/mo, Amnic 0.25–1%, Kubecost ~$499/mo — no longer appear on the vendors’ own pages.
  • Datadog’s widely-circulated ~$7.50/host figure is obsolete; its current published model is $5–$10 per $1,000 of spend.

Vendors that quote only (no public price)

Best for Enterprises running a formal procurement process where a custom contract is expected anyway.

Strengths

  • A custom quote can fit unusual scale or bundling that a rate card cannot express.

Limitations

  • Quote-only as of August 12, 2026: Finout, Amnic (full platform), Kubecost (kubecost.com now redirects to IBM/Apptio), nOps (visibility tier), CloudZero, IBM Cloudability, Tanzu CloudHealth, Flexera One, Harness CCM, Ternary, Yotascale and Spot by NetApp.
  • Percentage-of-spend contracts in this group are commonly reported at 2–3% of your bill — reported, not published; no vendor states the number.

Share of realized savings (a different job)

Best for Teams optimizing commitments who want to pay only out of the savings realized.

Strengths

  • ProsperOps prices as a share of realized savings — it acts on your commitments rather than reporting on your spend.

Limitations

  • It is a different model doing a different job than spend reporting, and the savings baseline and accounting are defined by the vendor.

Where CloudQuell fits

CloudQuell is in the published-rate-card group: free under $10K/month of tracked spend, $99/mo to $50K, $199/mo to $200K, and a custom — but still flat, never a percentage — Scale tier above that. Starter and Growth are purchasable by card, monthly or annual (annual saves 17%, about two months free), with a 14-day trial and no credit card to start.

A good fit when

  • You want the price on the invoice to be the price you agreed to, published up front.
  • You want a flat fee that does not rise automatically as your cloud bill grows.
  • You are self-serve and want to buy Starter or Growth by card rather than through a sales process.

Not the right tool when

  • You expect to negotiate a custom percentage-of-spend contract — that is the quote-only group, not us.
  • You specifically want performance-based, share-of-savings pricing — a different model doing a different job.
  • You need Azure or GCP today — both are in private beta (request access), not generally available.

Frequently asked questions

How do the published prices compare at $20K and $200K a month?
Using only published rate cards: at $20K/month of tracked spend, Vantage’s published tier is $200/mo and CloudQuell is $99/mo. At $200K/month, CloudQuell Growth is $199/mo — the same price Vantage’s rate card charges at $20K — and every other published competitor is several times that or has stopped publishing.
Is CloudQuell’s free tier time-limited?
No — it is permanently free under $10K/month of tracked spend. The 14-day trial is separate and applies to the paid tiers.
Does CloudQuell charge overages if spend spikes past a band?
No — there are no overage charges. Your band determines which plan you belong on, not a metered bill. On paid plans, tracked spend is measured as a sustained three-month average, so one spike month doesn't reprice you; the free tier is measured on the last 30 days. Past your band, new cost data stops displaying until you move up a tier — nothing is deleted, and upgrading restores it immediately.
When was this page last verified?
Every competitor figure was checked against the vendor’s own pricing page on August 12, 2026. We re-verify and re-stamp on each update — the date at the foot of the page is the last check.
